WWE RAW 2/9/19 | My Coherent Review.

The second week in a row where RAW is a good show overall and here's why.

Seth Rollins vs Braun Strowman For The Universal Championship Contract Signing.

The Beastslayer is no stranger to defending two titles in one night.
Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman came out to the ring at different times to make one of their championships matches official and they brought up reasons as to why they're going to win the championship of the universe you know like most contract signings.

Out came The O.C and AJ Styles became a typical wrestling fan for a moment by cutting a promo about how Rollins and Strowman didn't deserve their title opportunities. The O.C ignored Micheal Cole's saying of Rollins and Strowman having a contract signing and they had a brawl which led to a tag team match.

For an opening segment, this was weeeeeeeeeeak. I mean NXT's openings is not revolutionary but at least it's decent. That didn't do its job to build off this match not gonna lie.

The O.C vs Seth Rollins And Braun Strowman.

After the babyface team won the match with a roll-up from Seth Rollins to Karl Anderson, The O.C with the help of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode took out Rollins and Strowman in a 5 on 2 beatdown. Whatever.

Cedric Alexander was interviewed by Charly Caruso and he immediately ate a beat down from The O.C. In one segment, The O.C looked more dominant than they have in months. I like it.

Dolph Ziggler And Robert Roode vs Zack Ryder And Curt Hawkins.

WWE Photo
I would prefer Ziggler and Roode win a higher level tag team but this was surprisingly decent. Zack Ryder made a comeback with a splash but that wasn't enough because the odd couple won the match with the glorious DDT from Robert Roode after Curt ate a superkick from Ziggler.

Lacey Evans vs Natalya.

During Lacey's entrance, Natalya gave her a sucker punch which led to a meh match. Lacey won the match the women's right.

Becky Lynch Responds To Sasha Banks' Weak Promo.

Lynch says Charlotte and Sasha were paraded front and center “like the frauds you are” and also points out that Bayley has been doing just fine without Sasha since WrestleMania.
In her promo, Becky said that Sasha shouldn't be complaining about Becky being in the main event at Wrestlemania 35 because she's been in main events (like the final match of a wrestling show, not the show Main Event), was the face of NXT while Becky barely struggled to be on TV.

Out came Sasha Banks while Becky was smiling thinking that she's getting a fight but Sasha said that she wouldn't fight for free but rather at Clash Of Champions by challenging Becky Lynch for the RAW women's championship and The Man has accepted it.

This is the second week that I'm not a fan of Sasha Banks' heel promo which is insane for me to think about given that her bad guy promos in NXT were so to quote The Miz, awesome. The segment was decent though.

Cedric Alexander vs Baron Corbin. Quarter-Finals King Of The Ring.

WWE Photo
Baron Corbin at one point, pushed Alexander's head on the ring post while Cedric is selling his beatdown from The O.C earlier which looked absolutely brutal. The match ended with an end of days from Corbin due to Cedric losing his balance from the top rope thanks to Baron and he advances to the semi-finals.

I didn't want to describe all of the highlights in this match considering that I want to keep this review as short as possible but that match was very good. Baron Corbin as of late has been delivering very good matches even with decent performers like Miz.

Bayley was interviewed by Charly Caruso and she asked the champion about Becky outshining her as a champion (which is actually a good question)? Bayley doesn't believe so and what's to beat the women's tag team champions. I appreciate those types of questions. Whoever made that decision shout out to you but did that lead to anything?

The Viking Raiders vs Local Jobbers.

WWE Photo
When the commentators were making fun of the local wrestlers, you know how this match is going to end up.

Sarah Schreiber asked Sasha Banks about Becky Lynch and the boss told her to get out of her face. That short interaction was better than the promo she cut earlier. Hopefully, I could feel this way about her next promo in the future.

Ricochet vs Samoa Joe. King Of The Ring Quarter Finals.

WWE Photo
Will this match be better than the Cedric vs Baron Corbin match earlier? Not really but it was good. Samoa Joe destroys Ricochet's knee with a sit-out knee slam of some sort.

Ricochet was locked in the kokina clutch from Joe and both men fell down the ring. Both guys pinned themselves on the mat at the same time and the match ended in a draw.

The finish was surprising but I will say this, I really like that WWE is trying to protect Samoa Joe as this dominant destroyer and I really like it.

Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman were talking about Stone Cold moderating the contract signing for the Universal Championship at the Monday Night RAW Madison Square Garden edition next week and Braun didn't like that fact that Stone Cold praises Seth Rollins over with. Well, that was odd.

Firefly fun house time.

Bray Wyatt apologized Finn Balor for what "The Fiend" did to Balor and an "evil" Vince McMahon was upset that Wyatt has challenged Seth or Braun for the Universal Championship at Hell In A Cell. This segment ended by telling the world that "The Fiend" helps him in conflicting the pain.

The Universal Championship match at Hell In A Cell is made official and while I feel it's a bit early for Wyatt to be in that championship picture, I'm very curious as to how they build that title match once Clash Of Champions is over and done with. The segment was enjoyable as usual with the firefly funhouse.

WWE's Announcement About Baron Corbin's Semi-Finals' Match.

Corey Graves asked the ref in John Cone and he was about to announce what the decision WWE has made regarding the draw finish that happened in the quarter-finals match but Baron Corbin came out to say that he advances the finals because of that finish.

Cone said otherwise and he announced that Baron Corbin will be part of a semi-finals triple threat match to determine the winner that includes Ricochet, Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin.

The rivalry between Cone and Corbin continues (now thinking about it, Cone and Corbin sounds like an ice cream joint that I will definitely try because who doesn't like ice cream, am I right?)

The Miz vs Cesaro.

WWE Photo
This was aight but I'm shocked that The Miz actually won a match given his booking in recent months. The A-Lister won the match with the skull crushing finale.

Becky Lynch and Bayley vs Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

WWE Photo
During this championship showcase match, Sasha Banks came out basically watching Becky's every move in this match. Becky was putting a mugging on Bliss until Sasha Banks interfered with a backstabber ending the match in a DQ. Sasha grabbed a chair and hits her viciously but Bayley pulled the chair from Banks.

Bayley later smiled and she gave Becky a series of chair shots on the RAW women's champion's back. 3 out of the 4 members of the horsewomen are now heels and she needs it because her reign as champion has been really forgettable on top of the fact that babyface Bayley has long passed its expiration date.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Cedric vs Baron Corbin, Ricochet vs Samoa Joe, Sasha's short interview with Sarah, that beat down from The O.C to Cedric, Bayley heel turn.

Didn't like: the opening segment.

WWE Wrestlemania 26 | A Coherent Review.

I've teased a mystery review on my Facebook page (which you can click here to follow us) and that mystery has now been unveiled. It's Wrestlemania 26. This review was delayed and was supposed to be up last Monday but at least is now up. Also, The first draft of this review was 7 pages long so strap in. By far, the longest review on this very website.  I thought it would be fitting to review a Wrestlemania from a decade back and how do I feel about it? It was a show that if you watched it, you're most likely going to have a good time. It was a mix of great things but terrible things at the same time as most shows.  The 26th edition of Wrestlemania took place in the University of Phoenix Stadium in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona on March 28th, 2010.  The commentators were Micheal Cole, Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker. Honestly, Striker was pretty good and a far better colour commentator than Lawler was on this show (even today, Lawler is still bleh on commen...

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The State Of Wrestlemania 37.

I usually save those kinds of pieces for my weekly news series, The 5 News Week due to how modern this subject is and how my essays usually dwell on the past.  Usually, it is too early to talk about an upcoming Wrestlemania in October but not this time especially since we're still in a pandemic.  This is a topic I've been thinking about all month and I had to write my thoughts on it.  Let's answer this question right away whether Wrestlemania 37 will happen in SoFii stadium next year?  from CBS Los Angeles The answer is an obvious no. But, I want to try to dig deeper and see exactly where we stand today.  As of me writing this, Wrestlemania: Hollywood edition is still scheduled to take place in SoFi stadium despite an outlet that shall not be named, claiming otherwise.  This is either sheer blind optimism or downright idiotic from Dubya, Dubya E.  WrestleVotes did mention back in July that while the event is still going to take place in the stadium,...
