WWE RAW 5/8/19 | My Coherent Review.

This episode of RAW didn't prepare the biggest party of the summer very well and detailed but if I was a party planner, I'll give this a pass.

At the start of Raw, the Superstars and the WWE Universe partake in a moment of silence for the victims of the tragedies in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio.
After the entire WWE paid tribute to the horrific mass shooting in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio with a ten bell salute, an opening intro has been played for the first time in a year and then, Samoa Joe cut a promo on the announce table shouting loud and clear that he had nothing to do with the end segment last week on SmackDown Live.

Samoa Joe interrupts the start of Monday Night Raw.
That was a different way to open the show and I absolutely love it. Short, quick and to the point.

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs Natalya and Trish Stratus.

WWE Photo
During the match, Natalya locked Lynch in the sharpshooter and not letting go of that hold after Becky caught the middle to break the hold which caused the match to end in a DQ. Trish tried to separate Nattie to which Nattie herself purposely pushed Trish.

Rey Mysterio vs Andrade.

WWE Photo
Completely understood why they didn't put this match at SummerSlam considering that it's a 4-hour show. This match for the time they've been given, was kick ass. At one point, Rey slides onto the outside into a sunset flip which made Andrade land on the barricade.

Another highlight was when Rey reversed Andrade's fireman's carry and turned it into a crucifix pin. Because of Zelina Vega's help, Andrade hits Rey with the hammerlock DDT and won the match.

24/7 championship shenanigans.

Maria Kanellis was with her husband for an OB-GYN appointment and when Mike was quote "hugging" her, he was actually pinning her and he became a two time 24/7 champion. Mike eventually got out of that room and saw R Truth and Carmella. Truth pinned the new 24/7 champion and Truth is the new 24/7 champion for what it feels like the millionth time.

If I was WWE, I would give the title to Braun Strowman similar to when The Undertaker was the hardcore champion and I say this because the title needs a different fresh code of paint and handing Truth the championship is not one of them. I get that the dude is entertaining af but it will eventually get repetitive. As far as the segment goes, it's aight.

Charly Caruso interviewed Becky Lynch before Sarah Scribier interviews Natalya and in both of those backstage interviews, they all basically said that they're walking out of SummerSlam as champion.

The build for this match has been surprisingly good and it goes to show you that if WWE cares about writing storylines (which they obviously do care don't get it twisted) then so does the audience.

Paul Heyman Tells It Like It Is About Seth Rollins.

He wonders aloud if Rollins was supposed to be The Beastslayer and the one who had Lesnar̢۪s number?
Paul Heyman came out with Brock Lesnar and The advocate asked questions about Seth that isn't Seth the beast slayer? Isn't Seth Rollins the man that's going to represent the new generation?

Heyman also said that he begged for mercy because of Brock's attack and out came a beat up Seth Rollins with a steel chair in hand.

Obviously, Brock got the best of the supposed "Beast Slayer". This is the Brock Lesnar I wanna see and for the past few weeks, we got not a human being but a beast.

Seth grabbed the microphone and answered my question as to if he's showing up at SummerSlam and said yes. Sethy boy, that was a dumb move you pulled out there.

The Viking Raiders vs Local Jobbers.

(and no, I didn't leave this empty by accident).

Cedric Alexander vs Drew McIntyre. Special Guest referee Kurt Angle.

WWE Photo
Drew McIntyre attacked Cedric Alexander during Alexander's entrance and then the lights went down. Bray Wyatt choked Kurt Angle with the mandible claw. Nice seeing Bray Wyatt once again and it looks like we're getting a rematch between Alexander and McIntyre at SummerSlam or not?

The New Day in Xavier Woods and Big E vs The O.C in Anderson and Gallows.

WWE Photo
The match ended in a DQ because of AJ Styles and The O.C got a 3 on 2 advantage but thanks to Ricochet showing up, the odds were definitely evened. In other words, a 6 man tag match was made because why not right?

The O.C took the W with the magic killer. The match itself was okay.

Samoa Joe Demands An Apology From Roman Reigns.

He commands The Big Dog to walk into the ring and apologize to him.
Samoa Joe wanted Roman Reigns to say "sorry" and he "shuts down" RAW until Reigns shows up. Joe was notified that Roman is at the parking lot and he was on his way there.

Suddenly, a car crashes into Roman's ride!
Joe eventually got there and Roman got his car out with no license plate at the bottom and he crashed pretty hard by another car. So, Joe didn't do it then who did?  Also, since when Joe gave a crap about Roman's well being?

The IIconics vs Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville vs Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Elimination match.

WWE Photo
The IIconics were eliminated by Rose and Deville. Then, Kabuki Warriors eliminated Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville with the Asuka lock on Rose.

Alexa Bliss got the best in Kairi Sane with the twisted Bliss and both Bliss and Cross became the tag team champions. So, I guess the championships are still going to be irrelevant right?

Miz TV. Special Guests, Dolph Ziggler and Shawn Michaels.

WWE Photo
Miz said that he requested the contract signing and introduces both Shawn Michaels and Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler said that he has been carrying WWE on his back for a decade and he's the best thing about pro wrestling (get ready for people saying "OMG HE SAID PRO WRESTLING!! HELL YEA, RAW IS BACK BABY").

WWE Photo
The Miz said that he cannot wait to beat Ziggler up on RAW next week. Guys, that was not a typo on my part because out came Goldberg fresh out of his critically awful match with The Undertaker two months ago and he signed the contract to which Dolph ate a superkick from Shawn Michaels. It's official folks, Dolph Ziggler will face Goldberg this Sunday at SummerSlam and I'm fine with it.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: Rey vs Andrade, the opening segment, Brock portraying what he's supposed to be.

Didn't Like: Since when Samoa Joe cared if Roman was okay or not? Seth did something really nonsensical in terms of his well being (kayfabe speaking of course).

Sorry for posting this so late, life has been really busy as of late. What do you guys think about RAW yesterday? Sound off in the comments below. Follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy and follow this very blog for honest pro wrestling opinions. Anyway, stay safe smarks.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
