The 5 News Week: WWE Reportedly Getting Rid Of The Wildcard Rule, The Rock On "Quietly Retired" From Pro Wrestling.
Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.
From WrestleVotes, the company is testing out new cameras in preparation for the upcoming Smackdown show on FOX in less than 61 days away. Here's the full content of what WrestleVotes is talking about:
"When the move to FOX happens, expect SmackDown to be shot with different cameras. WWE tested out some newer, much more expensive technology recently and said to have liked what it produced. It will seem cinematic like, similar to some WWE24 footage. "
This is an ecstatic change that I will certainly appreciate if the story is made official by the powers that be.
In other words, WWE wants to have separate rosters and separate storylines for the red and the blue brand just like the good old days of 2016/2017 and 2018 to some extent.
By the way, I was actually going to bring up an exclusive article of Sportskeeda of all publications about the Wildcard Rule and how it has some validity to it because I was going to bring up a quote from Justin Barrasso's article on Sports Illustrated about Heyman and Bischoff being executive directors but Meltzer added another layer to this story.
Was that useless information? Absolutely it was but I thought that it was an interesting thing to tell you guys about. What do I think of this? God, I hope it's true.
While the wildcard rule had a few benefits like the match between The Usos and the now-former planet's champions in Daniel Bryan and Rowan on Smackdown Live a few months ago, it had a lot of obvious disadvantages and it made Smackdown Live more of the same as RAW.
I mean, he could possibly wrestle again but I do think that he's done with wrestling in-ring wise because the dude's working on what it feels like a million movies.
From Dave Meltzer, the company has been interested in the guy for a few years and Alcantar or El Hijo del Fantasma is bilingual in both Spanish and English so there's that. I think this is a great pick up by WWE and I could see why they're high on him. I know this is a cliche but bringing in great talent is never a bad thing.
What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.
WWE Testing Out New Cameras For Smackdown On FOX.
Ever since WWE aired their shows in HD all the way back in 2008, it seems like based on observing the product that they've been using the same cameras to this day and now WWE is getting a quality upgrade. From WrestleVotes, the company is testing out new cameras in preparation for the upcoming Smackdown show on FOX in less than 61 days away. Here's the full content of what WrestleVotes is talking about:

WWE Reportedly Getting Rid Of The Wildcard Rule.
WWE has listened to NSYNC's advice and said "bye, bye, bye" to the wildcard rule or at least that's what Dave Meltzer said in the Observer Newsletter. The wildcard rule will not be used as a plot device for certain storylines anymore once October 4th hits or at least creative wants to reduce it and they in WWE, wants to diversify both rosters.

The Rock On "Quietly Retired" From Pro Wrestling.
Dwayne Johnson recently sat down with Maria Menounos and Ryan Seacrest on the "Live With Kelly and Ryan" show and at one point in the interview, Maria asked Rock if he missed wrestling? The Rock said yes and went on to say that he's quote "quietly retired from wrestling".I mean, he could possibly wrestle again but I do think that he's done with wrestling in-ring wise because the dude's working on what it feels like a million movies.
Rachel Evers Sidelined With An Injury.
This is a sad one because she just signed with WWE not too long ago. Evers tore her ACL at a house show in Fort Pierce, FL and the match ended in a no contest. Her opponent was also a former Mae Young Classic competitor in Lacey Lane. I know this sounds robotic at this point but I wish her a speedy recovery.Jorge Alcantar Is Going To Join WWE.
Now, you're probably thinking "who the hell is this Jorge Alcantar guy?" Well, he was King Curneo in Lucha Underground and now he's joining WWE in September.
