The 5 News Week: WWE Panthering Up With Netflix to make Original Films? Seth Rollins On Almost Joining TNA Before WWE.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

WWE Panthering Up With Netflix to make Original Films?

WWE Studios has made mediocre films at best and according to Mike Johnson over at PWinsider, WWE Studios are going to produce and release films on Netflix but it's going to aim at family audiences.

The first one, "The Main Event", is set to begin filming this summer. The premise is pretty much about a bullied 10-year-old boy with aspirations of becoming a pro wrestler. He then discovers that he has super strength by eating his breakfast cereal and calls himself "The Spaghetti Kid."

The Miz, Bray Wyatt, John Cena and Sheamus will have cameo roles. Netflix has a track record of terrible movies and reading the premise of this movie, it really doesn't change much of how I feel about it.

Tye Dillinger Returned To In-Ring Action Yesterday.

Yes Indeed. Tye Dillinger suffered a hand injury which kept him out of the ring for 4 months and returned to in-ring action at a house show in DeKalb, Illinois. By the way, somebody on Twitter asked him if he will come back to NXT and he responded with:

A Mark Key Match Considered For Summerslam?

In an early Summerslam news report, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Dave Meltzer (click here for the Wrestling Inc version of the story) basically said that a mark key match has been "suggested" and "talked about". That match is Becky Lynch vs Stephanie McMahon and you know what that match is inspired by. Not a fan of that idea but I don't see it happening even though we haven't reached Wrestlemania yet.

The Usos WWE Contract Reports.

What is going on with almost every WWE wrestler's contract expiring news reports but it's good for guys like us. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com in a Smackdown Live review livestream on their Youtube channel, WWE are concerned that The Usos may not resign once their contract expires. Mike Johnson over at PWinsider says that their contract expires on April and WWE are in discussion about a new deal with the former 5-time tag team champions.

Seth Rollins On Almost Joining TNA Before WWE.

2019 Royal Rumble winner, Seth Rollins recently talked about how he almost joined TNA before WWE in a guest spot on the E&C Pod Of Awesomeness and here's what he had to say (click here to read the highlights via Wrestling Inc):

“While this is going on, I also get a call from, I wanna say it was D-Lo [Brown] was the first guy from TNA, he was producing TNA at the time and he knew my [ROH] contract was coming up. I think he was the first one to reach out to me and ask me if I’d be interested in going to TNA. And I was like,

‘Well yeah, I’m interested in making more money and moving up, so, absolutely.’ He’s like, ‘Alright, well if you don’t mind, I’ll put you in touch with Terry Taylor, who was doing all the hiring and the firing in TNA at the time. And so Terry calls me, and basically tells me he wants to offer me a three year deal to come to TNA for substantially more money, and far less dates than what I was having to do in Ring of Honor, and a much easier style. And so I was like, ‘Oh, this sounds fantastic. This is great.’ Mind you, I hadn’t heard back from Johnny Ace yet.

He hadn’t called me, I couldn’t get a hold of him, nothing. I get this contract from TNA and I basically agree to it verbally with Terry Taylor on the phone. I say, ‘Oh yeah, it all looks great.’ They fax over the contract. Before I sign the contract, I call Ring of Honor and let them know what I’m interested in doing with TNA. At the time, ROH is being booked by Jim Cornette.

I don’t know if you guys have any experience with ‘ol Jimmy Cornette, but he’s quite the trip and he lost his mind when I told him I was going to sign with TNA! There are so many expletives in the conversation that followed that I can’t even repeat half of it. He was so irate…[Cornette] says, ‘You know what? Just let me make sure they’re doing you right. Send that contract over to me, send it to me before you sign it and send it back. I’m like, ‘Sh– Jim, alright, I’m just trying to make a buck, dawg. Sorry,’ ya know?

Well, I hope you're caught up with the news and let me know your thoughts on the news I just reported. Follow the blog for honest pro wrestling opinions and stay safe smarks.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
