With Triple H making some changes for the overall WWE creative process and the end of the "Jeff Jarrett weekend", I gotta make some changes as well (at least for the site) because this is going to be the last solo RAW review since I'm going to combine both of my thoughts on RAW and Smackdown called "the cohesive WWE perspective".
So yeah, how was RAW? Well, It was one of the best episodes I've seen in a VERY long time. I guess no more, " RAW Is as insane and bad as the current season of Riverdale" jokes, right?
Becky remembered who she was during her encounter with Bianca Belair.
That promo ruled and as a guy that didn't like her heel run all that much since her comeback last year, I gotta say that I'm glad she's going back babyface due to the fact that heel Bex was so vanilla for my liking.
After Bianca showed some respect to the man, the new trio known as Io Sky, Dakota Kai and Bayley attacked Becky's injured shoulder.
They also attacked Asuka and Alexa Bliss to which Bianca challenged one of Bayley's posse to a match that also ended in shenanigans.
I guess heels are doing heel things, am I right? That episode made me say, "I'm on board" with that stable. It just feels so different from what we're used to seeing for I would argue, years.
Never mind the bits of the US exceptionalism propaganda earlier with that promo package, I do appreciate WWE's emphasis on the mid-card championship because that division sure needs some build-up.
Some of the best wrestling storylines happened within that department (*cough Mandy Rose and Otis*).
AJ Styles vs Mustafa Ali vs The Miz. Winner Gets A United States Championship Opportunity Later In The Night.
FINALLY! A wrestling match that didn't last more than 5 or so minutes (this ain't a 90-day finance episode clopped up into 4 minutes on YouTube).
The way the match ended was probably the greatest thing I've ever seen, no joke. Ali hits the 450 followed by the styles clash and that's how AJ got a championship opportunity.
Seth Rollins and The Street Profits exchanged words on who took the most Ls.
That led to a match between Montez Ford and Seth Rollins and it ruled harder than every manager at work (what a lame a** way to describe a great match). Rollins defeated the former RAW and Smackdown tag team champion with the stomp.
Ciampa vs Dolph Ziggler vs Chad Gable. Winner Gets A United States Championship Opportunity Later In The Night.
Another fantastic triple threat match. Ciampa took the W with a fairytale ending to Gable.
Edge was like, "I'm going to end Judgement Day" which made me as a Muslim go, "huh?".
My headlines may go to Jahannam for that joke but Dominik kinda tasted it after taking an accidental spear from Edge after trying to stop the Judgement Day from further beating up The Mysterios.
AJ Styles vs Ciampa. Winner Faces Bobby Lashley For The United States Championship.
Yes, the WWEisms crept in at the end but the match itself was pretty fun to watch. Thanks to The Miz, Ciampa nailed the fairytale ending to AJ and will go on to face Bob the lash man for the United States title.
The other refreshing part about all of this is no more meaningless and mundane rematches.
So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.
Like: Wrestling bro, some wrestling, the entire stable of Bayley, Io Sky and Dakota Kai, an emphasis on the United States championship.
Didn't like: saying "nothing really" is wild on a Monday night RAW episode but here were are.
