The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Halloween Havoc Is Fantastic. Inner Circle Town Hall Was Meh.

The black and gold brand just made a come back this week thanks to their Halloween Havoc themed episode.

NXT delivered this morning (last night your time) with unique matches and moments that filled those 2 hours pretty well in my opinion.  (Shotzi Blackheart was an awesome host, by the way).

For that, I gotta go with NXT. AEW Dynamite, however, was okay.

Nothing too mind-blowing happened besides a great main event.

NXT

Highlights.

Damian Priest vs Johnny Gargano For The North American Championship. Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal.

During Johnny Gargano's entrance, he destroyed the inflatable pumpkin on the entrance stage area. No heart and soul indeed. Johnny, you monster.

Thanks to the wheel, the match was a devil's playground match which is pretty much a falls count anywhere match.

Side note, loved the Sting inspired gear from Damian Priest. Do you know what I also loved?

When Gargano got spooked after opening a casket that included a skeleton. Now, that is comedy.

Thanks to that guy with a scream outfit (*coughed once* Indi Hartwell), Johnny Gargano became a 2 time North American champion.

What's with NXT and mystery attack angles, bruh?

The bout that opened NXT's Halloween Havoc was fun.

Pat McAfee Explains His Actions From Last Week.

Pretty much, Pat McAfee was talking sh*t about how he's had the greatest debut and how the clown outfit that some of the crowd was wearing is their everyday attire (I did chuckle when he said that).

He continues to flex on the leader of UE saying that he has a million subs just by talking to a microphone and admittedly (and not shockingly) paid off Ridge Holland.

Out came Kylie O'Reilly and the returning, Pete Dunne.

Dunne then hits the chair on Kylie O'Reilly and the rest of McAfee's crew gave O'Reilly an a**whopping.

Oh. My. God. Not only did Pete Dunne return to NXT but he also turned heel and he hasn't been a bad guy in 3 years.

New look which means you gotta have a new attitude (kind of), right?

Io Shirai vs Candice LeRae For The NXT Women's Championship In A Ladder Match.

This bout is the best out of their singles matches since they first fought each other last summer.

That person with the scream mask (*coughed once* Indi Hartwell) was about to help Candice LeRae grab the championship however, they were stopped by Shotzi Blackheart.

Because of it, Io Shirai climbed up with the ladder and grabbed the title to retain the championship.

Cameron Grimes Ran Out Of The Haunted House All The Way To The Capital Wrestling Centre.

This wasn't even a match. It was pretty much a short horror film starring Cameron Grimes and Dexter Lumis.

I'm not gonna lie, I was laughing out loud throughout this entire thing.

Grimes' fear was the star in this. His reactions every time he saw something scary was hilarious.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Santos Escobar Defeated Jake Atlas - That Rey Mysterio 1997 Halloween Havoc inspired gear from Santos Escobar was priceless.

Rhea Ripley Defeated Raquel Gonzalez - It was a decent encounter.  I'm liking Rhea's winning streak of some sort as of late.

AEW

Highlights.

Penta El Zero M Lost To Kenny Omega In The AEW World Championship Number One Contender's Tournament.

Penta's spike driver is always great to see. This encounter is probably the best thing about this episode. It wasn't a shocker that Omega won the match but the encounter was damn sure of fantastic.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Hangman Page Defeated Wardlow In The AEW World Championship Number One Contender's Tournament - There was some tension between MJF and Sammy Guevara before the opening match took place.

Not the biggest fan of Wardlow losing as I believe that a Wardlow win leading to MJF taking his opportunity (because MJF signs his contract, not Tony Khan) is an interesting story for me than Hangman facing Omega.

It is what it is.

Eddie Kingston Defeated Matt Sydal - I don't care what anybody says, Matt's AEW theme song doesn't even touch his WWE theme music.

FTR And The Young Bucks Interview With Excalibur - This was just both guys stating their reasons as to why they'll walk out of Full Gear as the AEW World Tag Team Championship. It was meh.

Chris Jericho Announced A Match Between Himself and MJF. If MJF Wins Then He Joins Inner Circle - I wasn't a fan of the Inner Circle town hall segment but I was interested in the Sammy Guevara, Ortiz and MJF tension.

Sammy and Ortiz are gonna face MJF and Wardlow next week so will see what happens.

Serena Deeb Retained the NWA Women's World Championship Defeating Leyla Hirsh - Let me get this straight. Deeb went from losing a match against Big Swole and now, she's a champion?

Are you sure this took place in a span of a few weeks and not in a few months?

The Man Formerly Known As Tye Dillinger Was Taken Down By Scorpio Sky - Shawn Spears won his squash match against VSK. Some guy in a bull mask threw him some candy.

Shawn pulled the guy to the ring and that guy was, of course, revealed as Scorpio Sky. Cool.

Cody vs Orange Cassidy For The TNT Championship In A Lumberjack Match - Cody delivered a superplex to Cassidy on the rest of the superstars.

John Silver kicked Cassidy's head off without the ref's witness and Cody immediately nailed the crossrhodes to retain the title.

Orange went from winning a series of matches with Chris Jericho to losing a series of matches to Cody. A twist that I didn't expect. The match was fine.

The question is, what are some of the highlights of both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, I gotta get some sleep so stay safe smarks.

WWE Wrestlemania 26 | A Coherent Review.

I've teased a mystery review on my Facebook page (which you can click here to follow us) and that mystery has now been unveiled. It's Wrestlemania 26. This review was delayed and was supposed to be up last Monday but at least is now up. Also, The first draft of this review was 7 pages long so strap in. By far, the longest review on this very website.  I thought it would be fitting to review a Wrestlemania from a decade back and how do I feel about it? It was a show that if you watched it, you're most likely going to have a good time. It was a mix of great things but terrible things at the same time as most shows.  The 26th edition of Wrestlemania took place in the University of Phoenix Stadium in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona on March 28th, 2010.  The commentators were Micheal Cole, Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker. Honestly, Striker was pretty good and a far better colour commentator than Lawler was on this show (even today, Lawler is still bleh on commen...

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The State Of Wrestlemania 37.

I usually save those kinds of pieces for my weekly news series, The 5 News Week due to how modern this subject is and how my essays usually dwell on the past.  Usually, it is too early to talk about an upcoming Wrestlemania in October but not this time especially since we're still in a pandemic.  This is a topic I've been thinking about all month and I had to write my thoughts on it.  Let's answer this question right away whether Wrestlemania 37 will happen in SoFii stadium next year?  from CBS Los Angeles The answer is an obvious no. But, I want to try to dig deeper and see exactly where we stand today.  As of me writing this, Wrestlemania: Hollywood edition is still scheduled to take place in SoFi stadium despite an outlet that shall not be named, claiming otherwise.  This is either sheer blind optimism or downright idiotic from Dubya, Dubya E.  WrestleVotes did mention back in July that while the event is still going to take place in the stadium,...
